One Team - One Goal - One Peak
The leadership team of Kempinski Grand Arena Bansko undertook the challenge of conducting the second part of its team building programme by climbing the Vihren Peak, on Pirin Mountain. The first part of the programme was successfully completed last month, during which the team went to the second largest ski resort in Borovec, Bulgaria.
On 18 July, the management team of the hotel and some volunteers from the staff worked together under the motto “One team - One Goal - One Peak” and climbed the Vihren Peak. It is the second highest peak in Bulgaria, after Musala Peak on Rila Mountain, and the third highest in the Balkans.
It took around three hours for the team to climb the peak, which is 2,914 metres above sea level, but the view was astounding and well worth the time and effort to get to the top. The panorama from the peak was open in all directions and really impressive - all the highest peaks and lakes of Pirin could be seen from the top. When the sky is clear, one can even see the Mediterranean Sea. Although the hiking tour was very difficult, by the end all were very happy that they had achieved the target – reaching the peak. The team placed the hotel sign on the peak and proudly waved the Kempinski flag, all while wearing specially designed t-shirts with the team building motto.
The hiking tour was on the same day as the 175th birthday of the “all-time greatest Bulgarian”, Vasil Levski, who is a national hero and a very significant person in Bulgarian history.
The team building activities will not stop here. The hotel management team is already planning some new challenging activities for the near future.
