New Kempinski Kids’ Club provides daytime fun for young guests
Bangkok, 2 March 2016 - Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok has opened a spacious indoor playground to keep young guests occupied and amused with a wide selection of complimentary activities including movies, interactive games, arts and crafts, and a room dedicated to karaoke.
The hotel has also launched the innovative Kempinski Junior Chef Programme. Cooking classes for children aged 5 to 12 years, supervised by qualified staff, are held every Tuesday and Thursday in the special junior kitchen that forms an integral part of the Kids’ Club facility. Weekend classes are conducted by one of the hotel’s team of chefs when extra charges may apply.
“The hotel’s young guests will have amazing fun making pizza, cupcakes and Thai desserts” explained Executive Pastry Chef Darren Harding. “We know that children love to help their parents in the kitchen. Now they have the chance to have some real hands-on fun as junior chefs. Each child will wear an apron and chef’s hat so that they really look the part.”
Covering a total space of 275 square metres on the ground floor of the hotel, the residential-style Kempinski Kids’ Club features contemporary interior design with a cosy appearance. Its floor-to-ceiling glass windows allow natural daylight to filter in and offer a view of the landscaped garden and swimming pool.
The club’s open floor plans are divided into various activity zones, some of the activity highlights include:
- Kempinski Junior Chef Programme. Recognised as the first of its kind in Bangkok, the hotel’s Kempinski Junior Chef Programme takes place in the Kids’ Cooking School where a real kitchen is designed specifically for the children to learn about basic culinary skills. During the various cooking classes, scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 15:30 hrs. to 17:00 hrs., the junior chefs will become familiar with the kitchen environment before they enjoy the hands-on supervised cooking activities. A number of interactive classes have been designed by the hotel’s culinary team especially for the junior Chefs including pizza-making, cupcake decorations and Thai dessert preparations. The children will be provided with an apron and Chef’s hat while they enjoy the class.
- Edutainment activities. Children are now enjoying a wide range of educational and entertainment activities. They can also enjoy a ‘heart of the house tour’ - looking behind the scenes at one of Bangkok’s most exclusive five star properties.
The Kempinski Kids’ Club is open daily from 9:00 hrs. to 18:00 hrs. and is an exclusive facility for children aged between 3 and 12 years who are staying at Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok, as well as young guests attending the “Sunday Longest Lunch” at Brasserie Europa with their parents.
