Siam Kempinski sets the scene for new Niche dining experience

“Asian, non-Asian,” A blend of continents where the product is the centre of attention!

BANGKOK, 22 July 2016 -Experienced Executive Chef James Norman is introducing a new concept to Niche, the popular drinking and dining venue at the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok. Chef James is drawing upon a wealth of experience gained at five star establishments in Europe, Middle East and Asia to create an exciting concept where diners select dishes prepared in an 'Asian' or 'non-Asian' interpretation.

Dish options include blue fin tuna, oyster, 48-hour braised smoked beef rib, New York strip (US prime cut beef), lobster and more. There are no fancy culinary labels to these new menu items at Niche but rather a description of the ingredients used to create an Asian or non-Asian flavoured course. Examples include Oyster 'Asian style' with steamed bao, tofu-miso glaze and pickled ginger mayonnaise, and Oyster 'non-Asian' with baked champagne sabayon, sturgeon caviar. The 48hr braised smoked beef rib 'Asian style' is presented in a tamarind glaze with coriander seeds and a fragrant herb salad. The non-Asian option is served in a delicious BBQ sauce with buttered corn.

"Niche is a venue for fun-filled informal dining where guests may choose their favourite ingredient and decide upon an Asian or non-Asian presentation. We encourage guests to make multiple selections in order to enjoy the tremendous variety on the menu. The sizes of each portion encourage diners to share and compare,” explains James Norman. The drinks menu follows the same concept where the principal ingredients play the main role and guests can choose between an ‘Asian’ or ‘non-Asian’ beverage style to suit their preferences.” Examples include apple, lychee, mango, chilli and ginger. Guests can take pleasure in this fun-filled dynamic atmosphere in the air-conditioned restaurant or the outdoor terrace overlooking the lush green garden and free-form swimming pool. With the new food and drink concept, guests can enjoy a magnificent yet comfortable setting while having a great conversation among friends. Niche is certainly a new social place to be seen.

Niche is open daily from 12.00 hrs to 24.00 hrs and is located on the ground floor of the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok. Chef James Norman expects the new menu to be very popular with movie goers and early evening shoppers at the nearby Siam Paragon, Siam Centre and Siam Discovery malls.
