“Visual Poetry” at the Kempinski Hotel Badamdar Baku
Kempinski Hotel Badamdar, Baku, will host the grand opening of Visual Poetry, an art exhibition. The exhibition encompasses up to 50 artworks of well-known Azeri artists, as well as two international artists: Bahram Khalilov, Hussein Hagverdi, Rena Effendi, Sabina Shikhlinskaya, Salim Babullaoghlu, Sarah Knill-Jones, Nina Rodin and Yeşim Ağaoğlu. The artworks presented include not only paintings, but also graphics, photos, video installations, and poetry expressed in graphic compositions.
“Virtual Poetry” is unique combination of visual art and poetry that unites modern trends inthe creative process – says the art specialist Naida Samedova – despite the differencesbetween the types of art presented, visual art and poetry have merged in such harmony that the distinction ofstyles seems invisible. The power of word and image takes charge of the show.”
For the Kempinski Arts Programme art and culture are a necessity – not a luxury. As global challenges increase, the impact of art and culture become ever more important as part of our legacy to the next generation.
Kempinski Hotel Badamdar Baku reinforces this statement by organizingthe Visual Poetry Exhibition and offering its premises as a home to the artworks for the next couple of months.
It is a unique practice in Baku for the hotel to become a gallery. Kempinski Hotel Badamdar Baku has the objective to support local artists and promote culture by all means possible within the limits of its capabilities.
The Visual Poetry Exhibition is displayed on the first and second floors of the hotel building which houses the Kempinski Residences and Offices. It gives a great opportunity to introduce the art not only to those who will visit it as a gallery, but also to all participants of the large variety of events which take place in the hotel, from weddings to international conferences.
