Fire, dance and big coconuts to celebrate 1 year for Kempinski Seychelles Resort
The magic is relived as Kempinski Seychelles Resort reveals a revelling recollection of the spectacular Resort opening a year ago.
An intimate gathering was complemented by thirst quenching rum and pineapple cocktails chilled in coconuts while taste buds were rejoicing at the bite size hors d'oeuvres floating around. Not long after a brief welcome and a moving trip down memory by Resident Manager, Gaetano Petruzzella, the drum beat sounded and rhythmic sounds of the Creole Moutya and Sega filled the air.
To celebrate the 1st anniversary, the Resort team hosted a sundown cocktail and welcomed all guests staying in the resort. A dramatic sky surrounded The Planters Bar and the deck, with panoramic views of the lush vegetation and blue waters, came alive as guests made their appearance for the evening. The welcome address thanked all for their continued support and a tribute was given to those who have contributed to the success of the resort. As is customary in most cultures, the birthday cake was soon in sight and a delicious turtle and hibiscus shaped delight lit up the eyes of children and adults alike, with or with-out a sweet tooth.
From the moment Achille hit the first note, feet were tapping and hands were clapping to the infectious Sega beat. Not long after, guests and children joined the entertainers and had their go at the Creole hip sway dance of the island. While the guests were good sports, there were no volunteers to join the capoeira dancers during their repertoire which included a daring fire limbo.
With yet another evening of magic and indelible memories the entertainment came to an end and applause echoed through the lobby and pool area. As the inviting aromas from the buffet grill filled the air, guests slowly started disappearing. With a choice of either a seafood themed buffet in Café Lazare or a culinary journey along the Indian Ocean rim in L’Indochine, who can resist…
