Kempinski Hotel Ajman Successful at Hotelier Middle East Awards 2016
Luca Valdevit named as the Concierge/Guest Services Person of the Year & Basant Kumar Kushwaha named as the Engineer of the Year at the Hotelier Middle East Awards 2016
With Luca Valdevit, Front Office Manager of Kempinski Hotel Ajman, has been named Concierge/Guest Services Person of the Year at the Hotelier Middle East Awards 2016, produced by Hotelier Middle East magazine.
The award-winning success story of Valdevit was mentioned during the prestigious award-ceremony, Valdevit being the judges’ favourite one, which secured him the win, ahead of the other five industry peers from afar.
Having worked in the hospitality industry since the age of 17, holding various positions from a bellboy, porter, F&B trainee to a concierge, duty manager and ultimately Front Office Manager, Luca has brought a fresh outlook to the role with his firm dedication and attention to detail, whilst paying attention to his expenses and independently creating a Front Office smart-costing plan for the year 2016. He at the same time implemented a strategy to increase the number of walk-in guests by 25%, compared with 2015, providing a tremendous boost and impacting the revenue increase in the top line and savings in the bottom line.
Basant Kumar Kushwaha, Director of Engineering at Kempinski Hotel Ajman, has been named Engineer of the Year at the Hotelier Middle East Awards 2016.
Basant started his career with Kempinski Hotel Ajman as Engineering Manager in 2008 and was promoted to Director of Engineering in 2015. He has completed a series of project works within a defined budget and time and, since joining Kempinski, he has led his team by example as a role model.
In its 12th year, the Hotelier Middle East Awards are generally considered the Oscars of the industry, and have become a part of the hospitality industry’s yearly calendar with hoteliers coming together to celebrate their successes, and the winners truly are the heroes that make the difference.
The awards took place at the Ritz Carlton DIFC in Dubai on 26 October, were attended by hundreds of industry figures and were judged independently by a panel of industry experts recruited by Hotelier Middle East magazine.
