Emirates Palace honors media guests joining National Day ceremony

Emirates Palace hotel last night hosted a dinner for nearly 65 media delegates who have come to the UAE from 26 Arab and other countries to cover celebrations marking the country’s 41st Anniversary, starting on Sunday.

Mr Burga Berberoglu, the hotel’s general manger told the guests “Emirates Palace is very pleased to welcome you on this great occasion,” He said Emirates Palace was honoured to receive such a large number of media representatives, telling them that they would return home with very good impressions about the UAE, which is “one of the most developed nations” and about Emirates Palace which is “one of the best hotels in the world.”

Addressing the guests, Mr Ibrahim Al Abed, director general of the National Media Council (NMC) thanked Emirates Palace for hosting the media representatives and for organising a tour for them through the hotel’s various sections, including miniature replicas of the Sheikh Zayed National Museum, the Louvre and Guggenheim Museum. “These museums being set up on Saadiyat Island is a source of pride for Abu Dhabi and the entire UAE because they represent a symbol of tourism and cultural development in the country and will be a major destination for tourists from all over the world,” Mr Abed said.

Mr Ibrahim Al Abed said this positive cooperation with the Emirates Palace would surely bolster NMC’s efforts in promoting the National Day celebrations inside and outside the UAE.

During their stay, Emirates Palace organised a tour for the visiting journalists of the hotel’s sections, rooms, suites and halls. The management also briefed them on the programme of the National Day ceremonies, starting on Saturday and continuing for a full week to highlight the cultural diversity of this country.

The journalists said they were pleased to visit the UAE and be guests at Emirates Palace, with many of them describing it as a key local and global tourism attraction destination. The delegates also visited the hotel’s nearly 40 conference halls, including one that has 1,100 seats and can accommodate over 2,400 persons.

Emirates Palace, which was built a few years ago, stretches nearly 1.3 km on Abu Dhabi’s coast and has nearly 100 hectares of green spots. The hotel has around 384 rooms and suites as well as luxury restaurants, some of which have won international prizes.
