Çırağan Palace Kempinski transfers another talent to its experienced team – Steffen Opitz comes from London as the new food and beverage director. Serving the industry for over 15 years, Opitz will be in charge of the extremely busy food and beverage operation of the worldwide-known hotel, including outside catering and banqueting.

Hand-picked by Çırağan Palace Kempinski’s General Manager and Regional Director of Kempinski Residences Turkey Ralph Radtke, Opitz has worked at landmark hotels of the luxury hotel group since his first acquaintance as a trainee at Hotel Adlon Kempinski back in 1998. “We have done some major re-structuring at our food and beverage operations for the last three years and we will continue to raise the bar with new projects. We have introduced new concepts, started long-lasting partnerships with respected local partners and raised profitability along with quality. We have a consistent and innovative approach to food and beverage, one of the three pillars that will carry our company to 2020 as per our CEO Reto Wittwer. With Steffen on board, I have no doubt that things at Çırağan Palace Kempinski Istanbul will only get better and even more exciting,” said Radtke.  

Prior to his new position at Çırağan Palace Kempinski, Opitz served as the executive assistant manager at the Stafford London where he was in charge of all operational departments. A true world citizen with German roots, he has been to many parts of the world with several executive positions. He was in charge of nine venues including banqueting and outside catering and taking care of 220 team members as the director of food and beverage in Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Centre. During his duty as food and beverage manager at St Regis Hotel Bangkok he undersigned several financially successful Michelin-star guest chef promotions and re-launched Jaan Restaurant and New Asia Club in Swissotel The Stamford Singapore. He had experience at Kempinski hotels in China, UAE and Germany. Steffen Opitz is known for his meticulous and result-oriented business approach, as well as his creative take on food and beverage. He is looking forward to discovering the rich culinary culture of Turkey in the coming days.
