Travel + Leisure 2013 World’s Best Awards Readers’ Survey marks the landmark as one of best in the world again this year.
Bearer of many prestigious awards, Çırağan Palace Kempinski was granted yet another one; it has been recognised in the Travel + Leisure 500: The World’s Best Awards 2013.
Travel + Leisure readers every year choose the best among a vast number of hotels, airlines, cruise lines and destinations to decide the winners. In the 18th edition of the World’s Best Awards, Çırağan Palace Kempinski was featured in the category: The World’s Best Hotels by Region – Europe.
For the Travel + Leisure 500: The World’s Best Awards 2013, issued by the US edition of the world –renowned, trusted and high profile travel magazine, a questionnaire developed by the editors of Travel + Leisure, in association with ROI Research Inc., was made available to Travel + Leisure readers at tlworldsbest.com from 1 December, 2012, to 1 April, 2013. Readers were invited to participate through Travel + Leisure magazine (in the January, February, March and April issues), T+L iPad® editions, newsletters and online at travelandleisure.com. To protect the integrity of the data, after 1 April, 2013, respondents were screened by Travel + Leisure and responses from any identified travel industry professionals who completed the survey were eliminated from the final tally. The survey website, tlworldsbest.com, was maintained, monitored and kept secure by ROI Research Inc., which collected and tabulated the responses and kept them confidential. Respondents were asked to rate hotels on five characteristics: rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food and value. For each characteristic, they were asked to rate a candidate on a scale of one to five, where “one” means poor and “five” means excellent. The required component ratings were then averaged to create an overall score. The winners were announced online 2 July, 2013.
The only Ottoman imperial palace and hotel on the Bosphorus, Çırağan Palace Kempinski Istanbul’s list of awards and recognitions is quite long and includes placement on the 2013 Gold List of Condè Nast Traveler (US edition), a listing in the Top 100 Hotels of the World 2012 by Institutional Investor and Fodor’s 100 Hotel Award 2012. “Our job is like preparing a custom-made dress for everyone. In ‘haute couture’, every dress is one of a kind and a second one does not exist; this is the kind of service our guests expect”, says General Manager Ralph Radtke, continuing, “and every single member of our staff is committed to this promise”.
