Bangkok, 17 July 2018  Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok is bringing back an all-time family favourite board game with added glitz and glamour. “Monopoly – Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok Edition” (licensed by Hasbro) makes its spectacular debut in August 2018 – and all guests booking suites with a minimum of two consecutive nights via the hotel’s website receive a complimentary copy of this legendary board game.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to travel back to a time when technology was not dominating face-to-face communications and when quality time with family and friends was spent playing popular board games. We are delighted to be the first hotel in Thailand to introduce a customised version of this world-famous board game, ” explains Alex Pichel, General Manager of Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok. “We are delighted, at Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok, to have captured the importance and significance of personal interactions and face-to-face communications between loved ones by introducing our own edition of the fabulous Monopoly board game.”

In this special edition, participants strive to become a Bangkok property tycoon by acquiring the city’s major landmarks, roads and properties. Potential “purchase” include Thonglor and Sukhumvit roads, Victory Monument, the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun), the Grand Palace and premier shopping malls such as Siam Paragon.

This “Monopoly” accommodation package is available from August 2018.                             For more information, please visit https://www.kempinski.com/en/bangkok/siam-hotel/special-offers/

About Monopoly: In 1935, Parker Brothers began selling the MONOPOLY property trading game, which would quickly become a cultural phenomenon. Now more than eighty years later, over 1 billion people in 114 countries have played the game designed by Charles Darrow and based on the streets of Atlantic City, New Jersey.  The images, colors and properties of the MONOPOLY game are now iconic pieces of pop culture. In 1933, Charles Darrow made a prototype of the new game using materials from around his home. He used a piece of oilcloth that had been a table covering for the game’s board, cut the houses and hotels out of scraps of wooden molding and typed the deeds and cards. The early mover tokens were actually charms from his niece’s charm bracelet.

Today, the MONOPOLY brand is known as the world’s favorite family game brand and the game has been played by more than one billion people in 114 countries around the world. Whether fans play face-to-face, on mobile, online or participate in casino or lottery gaming, there is a MONOPOLY experience to fit every lifestyle.
