Emirates Palace chefs visit the Abu Dhabi Fish Market to select the best seafood for the Fisherman’s Evening in Sayad
Amongst the early morning hustle and bustle of the colourful Abu Dhabi Fish Market, a group of chefs from Emirates Palace examined and selected the freshest of the morning catch to serve to guests for the launch of the Fisherman’s Evening in Sayad.
“Rather than the distributors coming to us with their fish, we are now going straight to the fishermen,” said James Norman, Executive Chef at Emirates Palace. “Forging these relationships with the local fishermen are so important, and as a result, we can better guarantee the freshness and quality of the seafood we serve to our guests. Plus, I am looking forward to having some friends to go fishing with.”
The chefs visited each fisherman’s stall, exchanging words of the trade with the local fishermen and admiring the variety of fish on offer. Select chefs will be visiting the Fish Market every Friday to pick the day’s best fish ahead of the Fisherman’s Evening in Sayad.
The Fisherman’s Evening every Friday will see Sayad transformed into a stylish Fish Market, where guests are invited to choose from the large variety of fresh fish and shellfish displayed on a bed of ice. With a selection of starters and desserts to compliment the rich flavours of the sea, diners can enjoy their fish exactly to their preferences.
