The house No. 1002 at the New Town on the street called Hybernská dates back at least to the 15th century when there were two quite large burger houses in its place. They were joined in the middle of 17th century and rebuilt as a Baroque palace. It has been a listed building since 1976. In 1996 the building was bought by Ballymore Properties which reconstructed the site after a project by IBA for the oldest European luxury hotel operators KEMPINSKI.
