Yixing, August 2013: With appreciation for the charming moon and authentic beer, the first Yixing Oktoberfest was grandly held at Kempinski Hotel Yixing

A charming, curved moon could be seen in the starry night sky on the evening of 20 August as a cool breeze from Dongjiu Lake blew people’s tiredness away. Lively voices and music were heard in the grand tent, which was pitched near the outside garden of Kempinski Hotel Yixing. The first Yixing Oktoberfest was held at Kempinski Hotel Yixing today, with about 400 guests attending and getting to experience authentic German flair.

World-renowned for its quality, German beer has won the heart of hundreds of people from all over the world. The unique flavour of malt is combined with hops, which together make up the essence of beer. A free flow of authentic beer was provided to ensure every guest could have a taste.

The first Oktoberfest was held in Munich on 12October 1810, to celebrate the wedding of Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Maria Teresa of Saxony. In subsequent years, Oktoberfest became a folk tradition in Bavaria. The celebration is dedicated to the fall harvest and to beer, the region’s most famous product. People come from all over Germany to reunite and celebrate with dancing, singing and the drinking of beer!

For the first Oktoberfest in Yixing, Kempinski Hotel Yixing pitched a tent that covered an area of 500sqm. Various authentic delicacies were presented by the hotel, including smoked seafood platters, selected German breads, original Paulaner beer, delicious roasted pork knuckle and typical potato salad, mellowed Schwarzwaelder Kirschtorte and more, pleasing everyone’s taste buds. In addition, Kempinski Hotel Yixing invited a band from Germany to entertain guests. The live performances of Walking on the Sunshine and California Blue brought the event to an exciting climax. The audience was constantly having fun with dancing and drinking beer while watching the fun performance of “Iggy Stone & Die Alpenrocker”, which made the Oktoberfest celebration even more interesting and memorable.

Fantastic performance of “Iggy Stone & Die Alpenrocker” on Oktoberfest.

As a wafer of a moon shined in the starry night, the still lake sparkled and cheerful chatting and laughing filled the grand tent. Modernity, tradition, quietness and excitement were blended together at that moment. What an unforgettable and beautiful night!

Cheers, for fun, for friendship, for unforgettable night.

Come to Kempinski Hotel Yixing to experience authentic Paulaner beer, taste various delicacies and watch the live exotic performance from 20 August to 24 August!
