The 2013 Euro-Asia Economic Forum kicked off in Xi’an

Xi’an, September 30, 2013; The fifth Euro-Asia Economic Forum kicked off on September 26, 2013 in Xi’an.

Xi’an, September 30, 2013; The fifth Euro-Asia Economic Forum kicked off on September 26, 2013 in Xi’an, the capital of China’s Shaanxi Province. The three-day event aims to promote economic exchanges between Asia and Europe. The biennial Euro-Asia Economic Forum was first launched in 2005 organized by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and nineteen Chinese Ministries.

 

Xi’an has been named as the permanent venue of the forum in 2007, Kempinski Hotel Xi’an, designated as the official site of opening ceremony, received 2,000 distinguished guests from more than 60 countries this year. This year, China Vice-Premier Wang Yang was sincerely invited to attend and deliver a keynote speech at Kempinski Grand Ballroom.Afghan President Hamid Karzai has also addressed the opening of Forum. The Ecological branch meeting, Investment and Financial branch meeting were also held at Kempinski Grand Ballroom Asia and Grand Ballroom Europe during the coming three days.

 

The huge sculpture named as “Silk Road” and creative coffee break presented by our dedicated culinary team perfectly impressed the prestigious participants in attendance. It reflects crucial significance from the eastern point of silk road to the metropolitan and contemporary city.
