Xiamen, known as the ‘Egret Island’, located on the South East coast overlooking the Taiwan Strait, with a population of 3.8 million, is a vibrant seafront city with a unique nineteenth century European flavour and charm, natural beauty and a flourishing economy.     Gulang islet is the most famous scenic spot in Xiamen that enjoys laudatory titles of the "Garden on the Sea", "Land of Piano" & "Museum of International Architecture". The main sites of interest here include the Sunlight Rock, Shuzhuang Park, Underwater World, and Zheng Chenggong Museum.

    Islet-Ring Road

    Built around the sea, the Islet-Ring Road is located in the southeast of Xiamen Island. It stretches from the ferry port and then goes through the Yanwu Bridge, Hulishan canon platform, as well as Wuyuan Bay and airport, with a total length of 31 kilometers.

    Nanputuo Temple

    The 1,000-year-old Nanputuo Temple, one of China’s oldest temples is located near the precipitous Wulaofeng Mountains (Five Old Men Peaks), the iconic Xiamen University, Hulishan Fort with the world's oldest coastal cannon, and the scenic Huandao coastal Road.

    Coffee Street

    The Coffee Street is just along the bank of Yundang Lake and next to the Xidi Villas, has dozens of Western style cafes. Coffee Street has been the go-to place for newcomers in town, catching up with old friends, or arranging casual business meetings between professionals. It is perhaps the most bourgeois destination in Xiamen.

    Xiamen University

    Xiamen University is the first university in China founded by overseas Chinese. Established by Mr. Tan Kah Kee in 1921, the university was originally known as the University of Amoy. Located at the foot of the green mountains, facing the blue ocean and surrounded by Xiamen bay. The main campus is picturesque with beautiful scenery and parks, and is one of the main tourist attractions in the heavily-touristed Xiamen.
