Kempinski Hotel Cathedral Square chef wins 2014 Young Chef of Lithuania title

Pavel Koncejalov, the Kempinski Hotel Cathedral Square chef who works at the restaurant Telegrafas, has been recognised as the Best Young Chef of Lithuania 2014.

Eight Lithuanian restaurant chefs participated in the Young Chefs Championship which was organised by the Lithuanian Association of Restaurant Chefs and Confectioners. During the two and half hour contest,  each participant was required to make two competitive dishes: a hot dish of using chicken and a dessert using dried apples, chocolate and sugar Farino. In the end, it was Telegrafas chef Pavel Koncejalov who got the top score and was chosen the Best Young Chef of Lithuania in 2014 by the juding committee.

The young chef also won the award for the Most Creative Chicken Dish. He produced a slow cooked chicken mousse roll with couscous and confit chicken legs which was awarded a special prize.

“The Young Chefs Championship is an important and useful competition for the future generation of culinary young chef‘s. This is a great opportunity to showcase their talent and spread the word about themselves. Winning the gold medal is important not only for the young chef's career and future, but also good for the whole team as well.
