Vivaldi in St. Stephen's Cathedral
June 27- October 4, 2014
The Four Seasons are amongst the most popular works by Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741), who spent the last year of his life in Vienna. He was also a famous violinist and had a masterful understanding of how to transform events in nature, such as storms or the twittering of birds, into music in this famous piece.
Vivaldi's violin concertos sound especially lovely in Vienna's St. Stephen's Cathedral when they are played by the soloists of the Wiener Kammerorchester during the annual summer cathedral concerts.
