Kempinski Hotels Group has recently appointed Mr. Carsten Wiegandt as the General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Taiyuan. He will be responsible for the preparation of the hotel pre-opening and the operations after the hotel opens.
The first international branded luxury hotel – Kempinski Hotel Taiyuan is targeted to open in 2013. The hotel is located in the heart of the “Dragon City”. Blending European style with Chinese culture, the Kempinski Hotel Taiyuan is a contemporary hotel offers luxury services and facilities to business and leisure travellers.
Mr. Wiegandt comes from Germany and has hotel management experience of over 19 years. He joined the Kempinski Group in 1996, and had taken key positions at many Kempinski hotels in both Germany and China. He has worked in China for over 7 years. With a great passion on the Chinese culture and tradition, he has wide knowledge about the Chinese market. Before this appointment, Mr. Wiegandt had worked as the Executive Assistant Manager and General Manager at the Kempinski Hotel Xi’an. Under his leadership, the soon to be opened Kempinski Hotel Taiyuan will certainly bring the European luxury tradition of the Kempinski Brand into this historical city and open a new chapter to Taiyuan’s hotel industry.
