auction item available. In addition, artists from China, Germany and America
performed at the ball, making the night both joyful and memorable.
Two of the highlight live auction pieces, included a calligraphy piece from Qiu Shuang,
the master at Hanshan Temple, one of the most prestigious temples in China, which
sold for over RMB 50,000. The second piece was a painting by the renowned Chinese
artist, Xue An Lun. The painting sold for over RMB 25,000.
General Manager of Kempinski Suzhou, Gerhard Bosse’s vision for the
charity ball was to give guests the opportunity to dress up and enjoy top-notch food and
wine, while raising funds for children and their families.
“Given how tough things are at the moment, I am really proud of our sponsors and
clients for making the night a success. As a five-star hotel, we are always enthusiastic
about charity programmes, as we see them as an opportunity to contribute something to
society and build a philanthropic group that helps disadvantaged people. After seeing
how successful this night was, I hope to go bigger and better for next year’s ball,” says
Mr Bosse.
“Chi Heng Foundation promises a long-term commitment to help children affected by
AIDS. Not only helping to fund their educations, but also delivering dependable and
comprehensive support. We give thanks to Kempinski Hotel Suzhou for organising this
event, and we hope children grow up unashamed of their parents’ HIV status. We also
hope they receive an education and develop a sense of social belongs,” said Duchong,
Chairman of Chi Heng Foundation.
