Make a Wish!

By tradition during the festive period Kempinski Hotel Zografski Sofia has placed in the hotel lobby a special Christmas wish tree. The festively decorated branches will disclose the wishes for Christmas presents of children from Doganovo orphanage.

The initiative is a joint hotel-guest activity in which hotel guests, visitors or staff can join in, picking up a wish and buying the described present. Upon completion of the gift collection, the presents will be taken and distributed to the children in the orphanage.
The Christmas Wish Tree initiative was organised by Kempinski Hotel Zografski Sofia for the first time in 2009 and gained enormous popularity among both guests and employees, being simultaneously widely featured in media.
Bulgaria is a country where the problem with the orphanages is extremely serious. According to notorious statistics 2000 children every year are left in various institutions, which means that every 5 hours a mother abandons her child to be taken care of by the state. The children in the orphanages learn to talk and walk later than their coevals, and experience problems with society integration on a later stage.
Over the long run, in an effort to relieve the life of disadvantaged children in Bulgaria, Kempinski Hotel Zografski Sofia has supported Dragalevtsi and Nadejda orphanages, St Ivan Rilski orphanage, Rojdestvo Hristovo Social Day Care Centre  as well as St Mina Daily Centre for Disabled Children.
