Le Beaujolais nouveau est arrivé!

Beaujolais nouveau is a red wine with violet-pink hue and strongly expressed fruity flavor produced from the grape variety Gamay, in the French region of Beaujolais, Burgundy. Traditionally it is offered six weeks after grape picking, always on the third Thursday of November, a long awaited day marked by the popular phrase “Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé”. Millions of bottles of the young red wine are opened all over the world in the first seconds to celebrate the festival of Beaujolais.

Being the first to offer the new Beaujolais vintage has become a prestigious competition, while over the years wine has been transported with bikes, motors, trucks, helicopters, balloons and even rickshaws to reach the desired destination on time.

Another interesting detail is, that unlike other red wines, Beaujolais is served slightly chilled (about 13°C). You can combine it with pasta, chicken meat and young cheeses. A plateau with various sausages would also be a great proposal, while irresistible desserts and fruit will complement its irresistible flavour Beaujolais.
