THE ONE Executive Suites managed by Kempinski – Shanghai wins the China Best Design Hotels Award

Shanghai, 11 January 2013 — With excellent facilities, sophisticated services and efficient management, THE ONE Executive Suites managed by Kempinski – Shanghai, was awarded “Best New Hotel” by The Bund magazine, on 11 January 2013, as part of the China Best Design Hotels Awards event, held in Shanghai.

The China Best Design Hotels Awards has been successfully held four times since 2009 — the awards recognise boutique hotels, high-end business hotels and luxury resorts that provide distinguished service and a unique style in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Tai Wan. Over 300 design hotels participated in the Awards’ evaluation and election process this year.

Founded in 2002, The Bund magazine aims to provide timely, original and quality information, news and interviews for high-end readers. The magazine is distributed in 21 cities across the mainland of China, and is especially recognised and recommended by readers in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou.

Karina Ansos, General Manager of THE ONE Executive Suites managed by Kempinski – Shanghai, stated, “The Bund is one of the most prestigious lifestyle magazines and we are proud that THE ONE has received acknowledgement from the publication.”

Designed by world-renowned hospitality interior design firm, HBA, THE ONE achieves a unique avant-garde style, with a mix of contemporary pieces and traditional Chinese and European art deco design elements. European Flair is one of Kempinski’s distinguishing features worldwide, guiding every element of Kempinski’s identity, and THE ONE is no exception, consisting of colour palates that have been chosen to evoke the variation and richness within Europe’s natural landscapes — warm yellows combine with wood surfaces to create cozy, inviting spaces where guests can relax.

“THE ONE has been created to offer a different option for corporate guests in a city where there is an abundance of ‘cookie-cutter’ luxury hotels — guests experience a spacious, home-like space in which they can relax, without sacrificing the comfort of a five-star hotel”, Karina Ansos explained. “As representatives of a Kempinski hotel that is notable for its high service standard, we bring an impeccable, but highly personalized, service to our guests. We are dedicated to creating a home environment for each of our guests, as well as an enjoyable community for long-term guests.”

About the hotel:

THE ONE is located in the business centre of Jing’an District, five minutes’ walk from the upscale shops and metro station on Nanjing Xi Lu, Shanghai’s busiest commercial area — also known as “China’s No.1 Street” to many locals, tourists and expats. The hotel is just a short taxi ride from Pudong’s business district, Xintiandi, the Bund and the French Concession, making it accessible to almost any location in the centre of Shanghai.

THE ONE offers 244 spacious guest suites and private residences that range between 62 and 600 square metres, making them among the largest in the city. Guests can choose studio accommodations, or one-, two- or three-bedroom suites, and all of the options are equipped with high-speed wireless Internet, flat-screen televisions, and connections for MP3 players and iPods. Each suite’s expansive bathroom consists of separate rain showers and bathtubs, and features state-of-art German fittings; while a fully furnished kitchen or kitchenette is stocked with a full range of European-style cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery, creating a perfect home for guests.
