“I am very happy to be in Prague,” Knoll said. “I am aware of the difficulties of the local hotel market, but I believe in Kempinski’s product and its symbiosis with this city. We are seeing other hotel markets in Eastern Europe picking up, and I am confident this will be the case in Prague as well. In other words - we have a very ambitious agenda.”
Knoll succeeds Kempinski Hybernska’s first director, Sedat Nemli.
He was born in 1964 in Loeffingen, Germany, near the border with Switzerland. He has an MBA from the University of Reims and is a member of Rotary Club International.
Knoll has an impressive background in the hotel industry, with working experience in Estonia, Russia, Great Britain, China, Bahrain, and Hungary. His past experiences included design boutique hotels such as the Hempel in London, to larger hotels like the Grand Hotel Europe in St. Petersburg.
His background, coming from a family run `Gasthof` in the Black Forest, became also his past time interest, as he enjoys spending time with a glass of fine wine and good friends in a relaxed atmosphere. He is fluent in German and English.
