Best luxury resort meeting hotel of the year 2012

Portoroz, 23 January 2013: The Kempinski Palace Portoroz was rated as the best hotel in the category “Luxury meetings resort hotel of the year” with 4, 77 points.

The Kongres Magazine introduced the Meeting Star award for exceptional achievements in the field of market communication on destinations, congresses, events and meeting suppliers in South Eastern Europe. A certificate of special recognition was presented to Kempinski Palace Portoroz for the “Best luxury resort meeting hotel of the year 2012”. The winners of the awards were announced at a gala award ceremony held in scope of the 5th Conventa trade show, on 16 January 2013 in Ljubljana. “The Meeting Star award shows a valuable tribute to the dedication and professionalism of our team, offering an outstanding product, impeccable service and genuine Kempinski experience blended with warm Slovenian hospitality. It is a proof for our efforts constantly to exceed guest’s expectations and turn every event into an unforgettable success. Besides the recognitions in the meeting industry, the Kempinski Palace Portoroz has accomplished outstanding results as well in leisure tourism with two awards based on valuable reviews and feedback from its guests. TripAdvisor, the world's largest travel site, announced Kempinski Palace the winner of its 2013 Traveler's Choice in the category “Top 25 Hotels in Slovenia” and “Top 25 Hotels for Service in Slovenia”.

About the Meeting star award:

The Meeting Star Award honours outstanding achievements in the field of marketing destinations, congresses, events and meetings industry service providers from Europe. The new and improved judging system now gives the public a chance to suggest and vote for their candidates, representing 40 percent of the final score, and help the judges decide on the winners. An impressive international panel of jurors are comprised of marketing experts and influential meeting industry professionals.

The competition is open to congress service providers, hotels, marketing agencies, event agencies, DMC and PCO agencies, convention bureaus, commissioners of congresses and all others involved in the meetings industry.
