Sightseeing
Something this beautiful, something this affecting, cannot be called just sightseeing; see Istria from a boat deck and become an explorer of medieval Piran and Izola. Go truffle hunting, and rest in olive groves and vineyards; take flight over the Slovenian Alps.

Cultural Life
Culture is more than just a way of life here in Slovenian Istria; it is a part of the elements – experience it in the architecture of the ancient seaports, in the museum artefacts, and in the music of the annual Tartini festival performed in castles and monasteries, and right here in the Kempinski Palace Portoroz.

Shopping
You can find elegant clothes and beautiful souvenirs in the shopping gallery inside the Kempinski Palace Portoroz. In nearby Piran, searching in the old narrow streets for those wonderful handmade arts and crafts is a pleasure in itself; and for something quite unique – the salt pans products in Secovlje.
-
Sport
Coming up for air takes on real meaning when the beauties of the Mediterranean can be explored scuba diving and snorkelling; go boarding, jetskiing, waterskiing and sailing over the waves, or get a bird’s eye view from a hang glider. Serve for an ace on one of the many tennis courts, and putt for a birdie on the nearby championship gold course.

Restaurants and Nightlife
For fine dining there is the unsurpassed Sophia restaurant and the Fleur de Sel terrace in the Kempinski Palace Portorož; for a taste of local living we love the family-run seafood restaurants in atmospheric Piran. Around midnight the clubs come to life, and in the famous casino the roulette wheel spins until the early hours.
