Originating as a farmers’ market, today the Viktualienmarkt is a hub of gourmet delights favoured by epicures from all over the world.

Set in the heart of Munich’s historic city centre the Viktualienmarkt is a magnet to tourists and locals alike.

Gourmets from near and far will all find something here to tempt their palate with a wide range of local and exotic wines, meats, fish, cheeses, bread, fruit, vegetables and spices on offer with plenty of opportunity to taste a bit here and there.

Living up to true Munich tradition there is of course a beer garden at the centre of the market serving the beers brewed by the city’s six breweries in rotation.

The market is open Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (closing times can vary).
