Originating as a farmers’ market, today the Viktualienmarkt is a hub of gourmet delights favoured by epicures from all over the world.

Set in the heart of Munich’s historic city centre the Viktualienmarkt is a magnet to tourists and locals alike.Gourmets from near and far will all find something here to tempt their palate with a wide range of local and exotic wines, meats, fish, cheeses, bread, fruit, vegetables and spices on display and plenty of opportunities to sample the offerings along the way.

In true Munich tradition there is of course a beer garden at the centre of the market serving beers brewed by the city’s six breweries in rotation.

The market is open Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (closing times can vary).
