The Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow organized the first Fresh Faces – Young Talent Sommelier Competition

As generally acknowledged, in each occupation one the most valuable aspects is experience, nevertheless passion for discoveries, talent and ambitious plans also determine the success! The Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow opens new horizons to the young and gifted: 21 and 22 March 2012 the first Fresh Faces Young Sommelier Competition took place at and with the support of the Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow. The new competition is aimed at giving the chance to young sommeliers, who are only making their first steps or already showed themselves to good advantage, express their true passion for wine and outstanding skills in front of an authoritative international jury! The contest is designed for people below 30 years old with certification of wine education, whose work experience in wine business is not more than 3 years. The authoritative jury included: legendary wine-maker from Mosel (Germany) – Ernst Loosen; Ivan Aquino, Regional Manager CIS of the worldwide known wine dynasty Torres (Spain); Dominick Trick, professor from the leading German hotel business school - Hotelfachschule Heidelberg;  and famous Russian wine critics and experts – Vladimir Tsapelik (President of the Independent Wine Club), Anna Kukulina (Editor of the leading Russian wine magazine – Simple Wine News), Sandro Khatiashvili (Head of Enotria wine school) and Andrey Yakubov (Training Manager of Fort wine company). Twenty participants from Russia, Ukraine and Holland took part in the first competition. The contest was supported by companies Dr Loosen, Hotelfachschule Heidelberg, Torres, while Simple Wine News magazine was the general information partner of the event. The partners of the competition included wine companies: Simple, Eurowine, DP-Trade, Millenium, Chateau le Grand Vostock, OKB, Fort, Arsenal, WineDom, Fine Wines, Abrau Durso
