The 2016 Ice Hockey World Championship in Moscow and St. Petersburg
Russia submitted the bid to host the 2016 Ice Hockey World Championship.
According to the suggestions of member countries and the International Federation of Hockey, the tandem of Moscow and St. Petersburg was named the most preferable. No surprise as these cities are associated in our minds as "two capitals", moreover, St. Petersburg is the second largest city after Moscow in Russia. Both cities have the most developed infrastructure to treat sport fans from all over the world.
