Etosha National Park breathing with livelihood and intensity

Situated in the Northern part of Namibia, Etosha National Park is one of the largest savannah conservation areas in Africa. The park was named Etosha, meaning “great white place”, because of the massive mineral pan that covers about 25 % of its surface.

  • Facts about Etosha National Park

Etosha is home to 114 different mammal species including zebra, springbok, eland, oryx, kudu, giraffe and the all-important big four the lion, the leopard, the elephant and black and white rhino. The wide variety of animals guarantees impressive game viewing. Etosha is also a bird watchers’ paradise, with more than 340 bird species recorded in the park.

  • The Ombili Foundation

Dedicated to providing education and training to the previously nomadic San Community, the foundation and school is located within close proximity of Kempinski Mokuti Lodge.

Founded in 1989 the primary focus is to provide training in agriculture as well as producing and marketing of the native crafts as a business.

Crafts are for sale directly from Ombili and all profits are in aid of the school and the community. The school caters for about 300 children ages 4 - 16.
