Manama, September 11, 2013: Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel Bahrain City Centre celebrates its second anniversary this month, looking back on two years of growth and success within the five-star hospitality market in Bahrain.

Kempinski Hotels opened the property in Bahrain on September 7, 2011, marking the arrival of its first five-star luxury city hotel in the fashionable shopping and business district of Al Seef. In just two years, the hotel has forged ahead to firmly establish its presence amongst the other five-star hotels in the Kingdom.

When opened in 2011, Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel Bahrain City Centre operated only one tower, the Grand Hotel, and its five restaurants, cafes and lounges located within that tower. Over two years, the property celebrated the opening of its night lounge, Bizarre Lounge in September 2012, and the grand opening of its Arabic restaurant, Baharat, in January 2013, both located in its second tower, Ixir Hotel. With the opening of Kempinski Ixir Hotel in March 2013, the hotel officially became the largest in Bahrain, boasting 460 luxurious rooms and suites spread out between the two towers.

In addition, the hotel completed the last phase of its spa and wellness centre, Pure Spa, last month. The opening of the largest Turkish Hammam in Bahrain has been whole-heartedly embraced by the public in just its first month of operation. With encouraging developments all around, Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel Bahrain City Centre celebrates its second anniversary with increased optimism for the coming year.

A reflection of the property’s achievement in 2012, Kempinski Hotels recognized Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel Bahrain City Centre as the property recording the largest growth in the Middle East and Africa region in 2012 in their Global Sales & Marketing Conference in January 2013. The Bahrain property experienced the largest growth out of the 16 properties in operation in the Middle East and Africa region in 2012. The entire team at Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel Bahrain City Centre is determined to continue its success thus far in 2013, and into 2014.
