.

Manama, January 07, 2014. Tamkeen, together with Kempinski and Third Wave International (TWI), has embarked on an innovative initiative for Bahrain’s hospitality sector, which seeks to empower young Bahrainis with world class training and provide them with employment at a globally-reputed establishment.

Accordingly, following a robust interview process which employs unique concepts, including an ‘experiential interview’ the chosen candidates shall be provided with training of an international standard.

The institutions providing training to successful candidates shall include William Angliss – an institute ranked among the top five hotel management schools in the world – from which candidates shall receive a certificate at the conclusion of the training.

Upon the successful completion of training the chosen candidates shall become members of the Kempinski team – a globally-renowned hotel chain which is present in over 30 countries and has a total workforce consisting of over 30,000 employees around the world.

Tamkeen’s Acting Vice President for Human Capital Development Amal Al Kooheji said, “This tripartite initiative represents a unique Public-Private Partnership to develop fully-fledged Bahraini hospitality-sector professionals, while simultaneously enhancing the sustainability of the hospitality sector by boosting Bahranisation figures”. She added “This project is yet another display of Tamkeen’s commitment to support initiatives which deliver multiple benefits to a range of stakeholders who are vital players in achieving sustainable economic growth in the Kingdom”.

Mr. Puneet Singh, General Manager, Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel Bahrain City Centre stated “We are excited to be part of this pilot project to recruit and train Bahrainis into the growing field of hospitality in the kingdom. As Europe’s oldest hospitality group we have a wealth of knowledge to share, developed over 116 years that we have been in operation. For young Bahrainis interested in hospitality there is no better stepping stone than this programme to begin their career as hoteliers. We look forward to welcoming the first candidates into the programme.”

Joint Managing Director/CEO, Dilip de S. Wijeyeratne commented “Third Wave International (TWI) takes great pride in joining hands with TAMKEEN to provide local nationals an opportunity to undertake a career in Hospitality with KEMPINSKI Bahrain. We are delighted that the training suite along with extensive on the job training will be delivered jointly with world renowned hospitality training partner William Angliss.
