The Lyttelton restaurant at The Stafford London by Kempinski has paired up with Melissa Cole, specialist Beer writer & SommALEier and author of “LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT BEER,” to complement their new Pie Menu, which will be launched on 22nd February 2013.
Executive Head Chef, Brendan Fyldes, endorses his “Best of British” theme to mouth watering new heights with this collaboration seeing Melissa introduce four new British beers to accompany these new creations.
Grouse & Foie Gras - mushroom, cabbage & Madeira gravy with puff pastry
Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted
Price £36.50 plus beer cost
“This beer is all about the hops and carbonation intermingling to provide a truly refreshing beer; the pour releases a grapefruit nose with just a hint of something herbal and spicy, then on the tongue it’s tingly and thirst-quenching, ending in a pleasant spike of citrus twist, cutting through the richness of the pie perfectly.”
Rabbit & Crayfish - light creamed pie, finished with tarragon with shortcrust pastry
Hopback Summer Lightning
Price £18.50 plus beer
“Full of fresh, zingy floral and citrus scents and tastes, it never fails to evoke a happy feeling of being in beautiful sunshine every time I drink it, I hope it does the same to you. It works well with the pie to tease out the sweetness of the rabbit and crayfish whilst underpinning them with a pleasing zestiness.”
