Wild Animal Park Aurach can be found in the midst of the Kitzbuehel Alps at 1,100 metres (3,609 feet). It is a true paradise for nature and animal lovers. The park is home to more than 200 animals that can move freely within an outdoor enclosure approximately
40 hectares (98.8 acres) in size. As a visitor, you can observe the animals at close range or watch them during their feeding times without fences or walls.
The wild animal park’s primary habitants are animal species based in the alpine region such as the red deer and fallow deer, ibex, wild boars, donkeys and many more. Wild Animal Park Aurach is a member of the Austrian Game Enclosure Association which ensures appropriate keeping. The park has an extensive lynx area, a small petting area and a “wild playground” section where children can test their skills and learn worthwhile information about the animals.
- Animal feeding occurs daily at 2:30pm (except for the rutting season between mid-September and mid-November).
- The park is 3 km (1.86 miles) north of Jochberg in the direction of Kitzbühel. Follow the B 161 in the direction of Oberaurach
and look for the signs to the Wild Animal Park.
Open daily from 10am to 5pm.
