Cross-Country Skiing

Cross-country courses in the Kitzbuehler Alps

There are great distances to enjoy and experience. The choices
range from easy runs with beautiful landscapes to epic distances
with demanding ascents. Many restaurants invite people in for a
short break. Skaters and classics enjoy the runs.

Illuminated and snow-covered cross-country courses

On the golf course Kitzbuehel Schwarzsee Reith (with parking options), a snow-covered and illuminated Nordic trail awaits. It is the cross-country course flagship and it is simply the best. Hobby cross-country skiers can work on their physical fitness and technique. But there are not just hobby cross-country skiers, but also professionals like the brothers David and Benjamin Kreiner of the Austrian national team in Nordic combination. Besides the 7 km (4.3 mi) distance, there are also shorter and varied trails for cross-country skiing. There is the option to use a 2.5 km (1.6 mi) distance until 9:30 in the evening.

Two cross-country courses on the mountains

Established in winter 2009–10, the high-altitude trail on the Kitzbuehel Horn is open from December until April. Guests can use the trail to access the Hornbahn I and II and the Alpenhaus and reach the Trattlalmmulde with the Alpenhauslift.

There is also a high altitude trail on the Pass Thurn (1,274 m in altitude) that is snow assured. Trails for skaters and classics are open from December until April. The trail is reachable by car.
