New General Manager at Kempinski Hotel Adriatic
Peter Knoll looking forward to new challenges in Istria
Savudrija, Croatia, August 8, 2013 – In August, the Kempinski Hotel Adriatic in Croatia welcomed a new General Manager – Mr Peter Knoll. He succeeds Konstantin Zeuke, who moved within the Kempinski Group to the Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, in Dubai.
Peter Knoll has over 30 years of professional experience in the hospitality industry, but in reality he has a lot more due to the fact that he grew up in the industry. The last four generations of his family have run a country inn and restaurant in Germany’s Schwarzwald region.
"For me, it is crucial to be the one setting a good example to my staff and external service providers", says Knoll, who started his career as a chef. Amongst other things, he was the personal chef of the German Minister of Defence, but he soon decided on a career as a hotel manager. "My mission is to make sure that everyone coming through the doors of the Kempinski Hotel Adriatic feels and enjoys a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We are here for them in order to pamper them and to create happy memories."
In 1986, after participating in a five-year management training programme, Peter left his native Germany to gain experience in London, where he worked for five years in different positions in the front office of the Britannia Inter-Continental Hotel. From London he transferred to Bahrain, where he spent one year, before moving on to China to work as the Front Office Manager in the Forum Hotel in Shenzhen. In 1995, he joined Kempinski Hotel Corvinus in Budapest as a Rooms Division Manager. This was his first experience with the Kempinski brand. During his career, he has had many diverse experiences, managing hotels that range in size from extremely large to very small. For example, the famous London-based boutique hotel The Hempel, the luxurious Grand Hotel Europe in St Petersburg and two small boutique hotels in Estonia are just some of the properties he has managed.
Through these experiences he has shown that he is capable of managing hotels with as few as 23 rooms as well as those with 700 rooms or even more. Re-joining Kempinski Hotels in 2007 in Budapest, his steps led him to the Kempinski Hotel Corvinus, where he spent three years as Resident Manager before moving in 2010 to the Czech Republic to be General Manager of the Kempinski Hotel Hybernska Prague. After working in the golden city of Prague, where he became one of the city’s most respected and successful hotel managers, Peter Knoll’s distinguished career continues at Croatia’s best and most luxurious golf and spa resort – the Kempinski Hotel Adriatic Istria Croatia.
