The 2012 Kempinski Hotels China Roadshow stops in Huizhou

Huizhou, 27th April, 2012: Kempinski Hotels successfully held their annual China road show on the 25th of April, 2012 at the Kempinski Hotel Huizhou.

Six executives from the Kempinski group headquarters attended this activity, including Mr. Reto Wittwer, President and CEO of Kempinski Hotels, Mr. Duncan O’Rourke, Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Michel Gehrig, V.P. Talent Development, Mr. Michael Henssler, President China Region, Mr. Philippe Caretti, V.P. Operations China, and Miss Ines Schoeder, Talent Development Manager China. It is the second time that the annual road show stops at Kempinski Hotel Huizhou. The annual career development program is designed to build a platform of communication and exchange for the employees of Kempinski to learn about growth opportunities within the group.

During the event, Mr. Reto Wittwer, President and CEO of Kempinski Hotels, Mr. Duncan O’Rourke, Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Michael Henssler, President China Region, and Mr. Michel Gehrig, V.P. Talent Development, respectively gave speeches about the Kempinski’s history, business development strategies, business model, and Kempinski’s development in China in the recent years and for the future, and shared with all the staff the people development strategy and philosophy of the hotel group. As the oldest European luxury hotel management brand, with 115 years of history, The belief of Kempinski Hotels in exclusive services “From good to Best” for the past 115 years has led Kempinski to become the oldest  and most outstanding European luxury hotel management brand in the world. Mr. Wittwer highlighted the four vital factors to the hotel’s success: the owner, the management group, the guest and the employees. But amongst all, it is each well-trained and dedicated professional staff that is the most essential key to realize the hotels’ management philosophy “From good to the Best”. Therefore, Kempinski Hotels are committed to develop and train talented individuals and to pay a special attention to their career development plans.  We ensure that our employees not only work with passion and a smile, but that they are also given the opportunity to develop and progress in their careers both domestically and abroad.

Even though this stop of the road show only lasted a short period of time, it has left a profound influence in the heart of each employee. The passionate speeches delivered by Kempinski Hotels executives have deeply inspired the staff of Kempinski Hotel Huizhou leaving them feeling even more proud of being a member of Kempinski and giving them confidence about their future development within the group. Mr. Reto Wittwer said that he was very happy to attend this road show activity in Huizhou. He sincerely appreciated the excellent development and performance of the Kempinski Hotel Huizhou for the last two years, which couldn’t have been possible without the dedication and efforts of its valued staff. In addition, Mr. Reto Wittwer also highly admired the quality of employees, service facilities and management level of the Kempinksi Hotel Huizhou.
 Kempinski Hotels operate 72 five star hotels in 31 countries around the world. It will continue to develop new programs in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia. Kempinski Hoteliers have plans to develop more hotels and apartments to bring the current number of establishments from 72 to 114 by 2015. This translates into the creation of at least 22,500 new jobs including 1000 managers and more than 60 general managers. As the market leader, Kempinski will continue to focus on personnel management. This means attracting talented individuals to join the Kempinski group, but also ensuring that the culture and management style of Kempinski Hotels transcend to each new opening hotel that will continue to adhere to the three principles of employee development: talent development, training, and people-oriented service.

This year’s Kempinski Hotels China Roadshow led by Mr. Reto Wittwer, President and CEO of Kempinski, has stopped at 12 Kempinski establishments in China, with some scheduled to open later this year, with the purpose of promoting the people-oriented culture of Kempinski and to share the latest developments and plans of the hotel group with all employees. Kempinski aims to deliver the most advanced hotel management experience and to offer the best employee benefits in line with the group’s management philosophy effectively implemented in each single hotel.
