This activity received a lot of attention from the local Government. Many municipal party committee leaders attended this ceremony such as the President of Huizhou Propaganda Department, Ms. Huang Yanhang, and the President of Bureau of Civil Affairs of Huizhou, Mr. Chen Weiliang. Leaders of the journalists associations in Huizhou also attended this event.
The President of the Huizhou Propaganda Department, Ms. Huang Yanhang cut her visit to Hong Kong short in order to attend this ceremony. In her speech, Ms. Huang said “the establishment of the ‘Kempinski Correspondents' Club of Nationwide Journalists Association’ has a far-reaching significance. It means that Huizhou journalists now have a gathering activity, which will tighten the relationship between the media in Huizhou. Moreover this cooperation is going to increase the power to deliver comprehensive, concrete and factual news reports to public.” During the ceremony, the President of China News in Huizhou and Vice President of China News in Guangdong, Mr. Song Xiujie, presented the association’s official establishment plaque to Mr. Sebastien Mariette, General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Huizhou.

The unit which is responsible for all national journalists associations within Huizhou is the Huizhou Propaganda Department. There are nine member units and more than 200 media groups, which include South Daily, South Metropolitan News, Guangzhou Daily, Yangcheng Evening Daily, China News, China People Radio, Shenzhen Commercial News, and Shenzhen Special Zone Daily.
