Home of traditions: The private "Übersee-Club" Hamburg.

It was at the suggestion of banker Max M. Warburg that Hamburg business people, industrialists, and senior city administrators founded the club on 27 June 1922 when the German economy lay prostrate following the First World War.

As a meeting place for the business and scientific communities, the Übersee-Club made a great contribution to the business community and government acting in unison to rebuild international commerce and to promote the development of Hamburg's traditional links with world markets.
