Getting Around

Transports Publics Genevois (TPG) or Geneva Public Transport offers an extensive network of buses, trams, ferries and river taxis (Mouettes).

Geneva by MouettesGeneva’s public transport (TPG) network links buses, trams, some trains throughout the city and surrounding suburbs.

Looking to venture just outside the city limits?  The UNIRESO network is effcient, fast and is the right ticket for you!

UNIRESO combines the public transport zones of TPG with lines that extend outside the city limits and into the suburbs and even into the canton of Vaud and France.  Whether you are intersted in a day trip or group passes, UNIRESO has a package that will meet your needs.  Tickets are available at every stop in the city. Suburban buses as well as those found out along the countryside, have ticket machines on board.Prepaid cards can be bought at the TPG agencies, the railway station’s ticket office and authorised retailers.  Look for the UNIRESO decale in participating shop windows.

 Geneva By Mouettes

The Mouettes Genevoises (Geneva Gulls) are yellow taxi boats that help tourists cross from one side of the lake to the other in a matter of minutes. Using the Geneva Transport pass, you can board the boat for free. Departures are regular -- between every 10 to 30 minutes depending on the dock.

Geneva By Boat

Several navigation companies organise Lake Geneva cruises stopping at charming places.  CGN and Swissboat transport passengers easily from Geneva to Lausanne, Montreux on the Swiss side and Evian, Thonon and other destinations in France.  Numerous landing stages along the lakeshore allow passengers to get off and enjoy a walk through the countyside or to take a boat back to the city.

Geneva by Bicycle

For guests who are searching for a “greener” way to view the city at their own pace, the Genève Roule Association offers free bicycle rentals during the summer months.

Additionally in partnership with Serbeco, the Grand Hotel Kempinski Geneva also has electric bicycles available for guests to navigate the city’s quite extensive network of bike paths.

Grand Hotel Kempinski Geneva offers guests free transportation passes to further facilitate travel and tours around the city.  To request your pass, please ask for it at the reservation desk upon check in or check with our Concierge.
