Siam Passion

We have a winner! Kempinski Dessert of the Year 2014 goes to Siam Passion.

Imagine a delectable fusion of passion fruit, mango, coconut and banana combined with European pastry craftsmanship and a deep passion for Thai culture…

These are the ingredients of Siam Passion, the new Kempinski Dessert of the Year for 2014. Balancing the sweetness of the exotic fruit and the crispness of tropical curd is a taste adventure in itself. This delicious dessert was created by Alfred Merkel, pastry chef at Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok.

Siam Passion was selected by over 100 journalists, general managers and board members of Kempinski Hotels in a blind tasting during the International Tourism Trade Fair in Berlin (ITB) in March. The recipe had to beat out 66 other worthy contestants in order to secure the title. The desserts of Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin, Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich, Grand Hotel Kempinski Geneva and Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna were all chosen for the final round. And we are happy to announce that our qualifying dessert, Passiflora, won third place!

Following tradition, the winning dessert is now being offered at all Kempinski hotels throughout the year. Our guests can enjoy Siam Passion at FloorTwo Lounge. The dessert perfectly fits with your favourite tea, coffee or our signature hot chocolates while you are enjoying the stunning views over the lake.

Dessert of the Year 2012 and 2013

As for our qualifying dessert Passiflora, created by our pastry chef David Potier and his team, it reached such a level of success that we decided to serve this mellow treat at the FloorTwo Lounge as well.

Visit us, try the desserts and share with us your thoughts!
