The one & only Geneva International Motor Show: 6 days to go!

The event of the year is starting in a few days. This year’s Geneva International Motor Show will open its doors to the public from March 6th to16th 2014 at Palexpo Convention Centre. But how do you get from Grand Hotel Kempinski Geneva to Palexpo? Well, it's easily accessible from the hotel by taxi, bus or train, all of which are linked to the city centre and airport by a short 10 minute journey.

So what are the highlights of this year's Motor Show?

  • More than 900 vehicles for today and tomorrow
  • A test track for electric cars
  • A retrospective exhibition featuring 90 years of that most mythical of automobile races: the Le Mans 24 hours race
  • An average of 700,000 visitors attending the event

Our General Manager, Mr. Thierry Lavalley is also a big fan of luxurious and green cars. We took advantage of this fact and we asked him a few brief questions to find out about his preferences and experiences with cars.

Thierry Lavalley General Manager Kempinski Geneva

What is your favourite car?

The one that drives me on holiday, preferably an Aston Martin Rapide S.

If your hotel was a car which one would it be?

A car that combines class, elegance, strength, avant-gardism and eco-friendly characteristics. It would be a hybrid Bentley.

What is your fondest memory with a car at one of your hotels?

When I started my career in hospitality and was a trainee in the front office department, I had an opportunity to drive a client's Rolls Royce, it was the first time I actually drove a Rolls Royce.

As a big car lover, our general manager is without a doubt planning to attend this event. Are you planning to come, too? The International Moto Show Geneva is one of the most important and attractive showcases for the automobile world. For the third consecutive year, the Car of the Year will be announced right on the spot during the show. Any guess which one will win this year?
