IRONMAN 70.3 European Championship Wiesbaden offers a challenging, yet scenic course through the Rheingau region. Athletes and visitors alike can enjoy one of Europe’s oldest ‘spa towns,’ with over 25 hot springs throughout the area. Southwest Germany is also known for world renowned wine and champagne producers.
Lake "Raunheimer Waldsee" is the venue for the 1.2-mile, out-and-back swim. The challenging 56-mile, one-loop bike course will lead the athletes into a series of hilly climbs with steep descents. The13.1-mile, four-loop course takes athletes through downtown Wiesbaden and has a drawn-out descent that lends itself to a spectacular, spectator-filled finish.
