Based in London since 1979, the Mashali family have been actively pursuing hotel and commercial property investment opportunities in the United Kingdom, Germany and key European gateway cities.
Kempinski AG will continue to manage the hotel under a long-term contract. In addition to Kempinski’s strong management team, the new owner is being advised by Hotel in a Box of London and seasoned hotel consultants Hotour Hotel Consulting GmbH of Frankfurt, which will be also responsible for asset management.
A representative of the family office stated “We are delighted to have acquired this iconic asset, which is a testament to our confidence in the German economy and the Frankfurt hospitality market.”
The 284-room conference hotel has been under Kempinski management since 1976. Originally built in 1720 as a small hunting lodge, the property has a rich history. In 1887, the charming Forsthaus Restaurant was established and has since hosted many important gatherings. The hotel wings were added in 1950 and have subsequently been expanded.
