Some 13 forts and castles cap the surrounding hills of the Rhine valley, wonderful villas, cosy pubs and many small vineyards offering wine tasting are to be found along the way. The world famous beauty spot, Loreley, should not be missed as well as the city Rüdesheim with its Drosselgasse.

  • Eltville - The City of Roses and Gutenberg

    Eltville known as the city of wine, champagne and roses, is just a pretty 20-minute walk along the Rhine away. The oldest town in the Rheingau has an enchanting historic centre enhanced by the beautiful buildings and can be best enjoyed by a stroll through the town.

  • Kloster Eberbach - Former Monastery on Top of the Hill

    A few minutes up the hill you arrive at Kloster Eberbach a Cistercian monastery that was founded in 1136. The original monks and founders of the monastery came from Burgundy. The museum has on display several enormous wooden wine presses dating back to the mid of the 17th century. The monastery was featured in the film "The Name of the Rose".
