We can’t wait for Dubai’s best season to start now that the hot summer months have passed. Winter is a wonderful time of the year where you can spend all your time outside enjoy the best Dubai has on offer; from festivals and events to beautiful parks and beach life.
So we have gathered all the top reasons why Dubai should be your priority holiday destination this winter.
See Dubai from a different side
Why not see Dubai from a different altitude and head to ‘At The Top Burj Khalifa’, which is the world’s tallest building. This amazing observatory deck gives you a chance to witness the breathtaking skyline of Dubai from the 124th floor.
Dubai is also famous for its amazing shopping malls such as, Mall of the Emirates (which our hotel is directly linked to), The Dubai Mall (the world’s largest) Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai Marina Mall, BurJuman, Wafi Mall, etc. These shopping malls are a haven for all fashionistas and shopaholics out there and offer any brand that you can think of, both familiar and unfamiliar ones.
If you’re looking for a more traditional shopping experience with lots of souvenirs, Souk Madinat Jumeirah is the place to be. Here you can buy traditional artifacts and hand-crafted souvenirs as well as a selection of water-front restaurants featuring cuisines from different parts of the world.
Dubai is also known for gold… visiting the Gold Souks is a must, doesn’t matter if you’re buying or just strolling around. If you are looking for diamonds, nice silver as well as platinum all can be found here. The prices are really good and it is authentic and the quality is perfect.
Winter is the time for Dubai’s local festivals. “Dubai Shopping Festival” (DSF) is one of the biggest festivals in Dubai, starting from January 2 until February 2, 2014. Over 6,000 shops in 50 malls across the emirate are participating in this event. Lots of discounts and amazing deals can be found everywhere.
Global Village is providing a big selection of multicultural entertainment and retail options and is a must do during your Dubai visit. This year, Global Village has opened its door from October 5, 2013 and will run until March 1, 2014.
Visit the one and only indoor Alps in the desert
Ski Dubai is the first alpine indoor resort in Middle East with 22,500 square meters of indoor ski area, located in Mall of the Emirates. It is not only offering skiing and snowboarding, you get to pet some penguins too! Have your snowy experience in the desert with Ski Dubai!
There’s no Dubai trip if you haven’t been to the desert. A Desert Safari is the perfect way to visit the desert and experience the traditional Arabic entertainment. The Desert Safari includes dune bashing with 4x4 safari jeeps and quad bike riding; perfect for those who are looking for adrenaline activities, camel ride, Arabic food and entertainment.
Discovering Dubai’s history should also be on the top of your list. The Dubai museum located in the Al Fahidi Fort will share with you the history of the city. Containing artifacts dating back to 3,000 BC, tell a story of Dubai from before the discovery of oil to the construction of the impressive sky-scrapers the city boasts today.
If you are interested in seeing the ancient Arabic city, visit the Bastakiya Quarter, built in the 19th century. The atmosphere is very reminiscent and there are plenty of art galleries and cafés to explore.
