Summer Festival at the Japanese Palais

Japanese Palais (Japanisches Palais)

Since 2009, the cultural festival in the park of the Japanese Palais has taken pleasure in growing popularity and rising numbers of visitors with every year.

Paintings are the centre of attention here. National and international artists present their works and encourage en plein air painting – the kind of painting that brings the visitors, the surroundings or certain scenes directly to the natural sphere of the canvas. The works from the present and previous years can be found on the website.

The assignment of the Canaletto price for the best paintings forms the climax of the party.

At the same time, other events can be visited, such as radio play night, piano night, Palais poetry or yoga in the park – a course taught by a yoga master from India.

Choirs and soloists of the State Operetta Dresden, as well as independent singers, instrumentalists and ensembles, provide the musical entertainment.

The Japanese Palace also offers groups the chance to use a lounge with gastronomic services to enjoy the unique atmosphere.

The entry is free for all events. For further information please visit palaissommer.de (website in German)
