Kempinski supports the local music and arts community

Tango Nuevo Project’s debut music collection sponsored by Kempinski Residences & Suites, Doha

Doha, 4 February 2014: Kempinski Residences & Suites, Doha has the great honour to support the debut music collection of Tango Nuevo Project. The talented artists formed an ensemble with an immense passion for tango, which inspired them to awaken the Argentinean soul in Qatar. Tango Nuevo Project isn’t a newcomer to Kempinski; the popular Tango Nights have mesmerized the audience of The Lounge for over two years. Wissam Suleiman, General Manager of Kempinski Residences & Suites, Doha gladly decided to assist and support in the realization and launch of their initial music album in Qatar.

A mixture of Milongas and Waltzes, Tango Nuevo and Tradicional, and the melodies from Buenos Aires and Paris captivated the attention of Wissam Suleiman during one of the Tango Nights at The Lounge and brought this music close to his heart. Kempinski Residences & Suites, Doha decided to choose the road less travelled and become the first hotel in Qatar to encourage and support music talents. The hotel has assisted with the visual identity, production and launch of the “Till Dawn” collection, the first album of Tango Nuevo Project.

Patrizia Doeringer (violin), Christoph Schmitz (cello) and Joris Laenen (piano) met each other in Doha after having earned their degree at some of the elite music universities in Germany. Always hungry for new artistic quests they decided to initiate the Argentinean Tango in Qatar. Two years later, Mia Buchignani joined their melodious path with her thrilling, attention-catching voice.

The launch event of Tango Nuevo Project’s “Till Dawn” music album was held at The Lounge of Kempinski Residences & Suites, Doha on the 3rd of February. The night, full of great music, stylish ambiance and gourmet delights, was attended by media, key members of the local society and executives of Kempinski Hotels; a great way to celebrate the start of this cultural partnership between Kempinski and Tango Nuevo Project.
