Fire drill held to ensure the hotel’s security during the Fortune Global Forum

To ensure the security of our hotel during the Fortune Global Forum, Kempinski Hotel Chengdu held a fire drill on 29th of May.

The General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Chengdu, Mr Fritz Schenkel, has always taken security and fire prevention seriously throughout his professional hospitality career. We work closely with the Fire Fighting Bureau to hold fire drills regularly, holding drills at least once every three months for the last six years. Fire drills are very important because only through practice can the staff truly learn what to do and how to behave in an emergency, to ensure not only their own safety but also the safety of the guests. Ultimately, the responsibility for these lessons rests on the management team’s shoulders.

The 12th Fortune Global Forum will take place from 6 to 8 June, 2013 in Chengdu, People’s Republic of China.

Since 1995, the FORTUNE Global Forum has brought together the heads of global business – chairmen, presidents and CEOs of the world’s top 500 companies – to discuss the dynamic frontiers of international commerce. In 2013, the Fortune Global Forum will return to China for the fourth time, where it will convene in Chengdu, an energetic and growing city in southwest China that is both a symbol of and major player in the 21st century global economy.

The purpose of a normal fire drill is simple and mostly common sense. It is there to help inform people what to do if something has caught fire. If there is a fire, the fire alarm sounds loudly. Smart fire safety saves millions of lives by alerting people of fire so that they have time to escape and survive. To ensure the security of our hotel during the Fortune Global Forum, Kempinski Hotel Chengdu held a fire drill on 29th of May. Soon, the eyes of the global business world will turn to Chengdu, a landlocked city in the middle of China that just may hold the keys to the future of the global economy.

It is our inescapable responsibility to welcome all guests enthusiastically and hospitably and guarantee comprehensive security and prosperity.

Chengdu can do it! We can do it!
