Giant Panda

The Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Base is one of the most important instruments in the preservation of the Panda species so that future generations can have the chance to live with pandas.

Located just 40 min from Kempinski Hotel Chengdu, the Panda Research Base is the largest in the world. Home to the most famous endangered animal on the planet, it houses approximately 60 pandas of various ages. The breeding program at the Panda Research Base has been very successful. It is recommended that you go in the morning when the pandas are most active.

You are likely to see young pandas and might even get the chance to see new born panda cubs. The best way to get there is by taxi, which usually costs about 60-70 RMB from Kempinski Hotel Chengdu.
