Settled in St. Martial Sur Né, the heart of the Cognac region, the Trijol family has been producing delicate cognacs since 1859. The traditional production methods have been passed on to five family generations, ensuring the production of the highest quality cognac. The business is now run by Jean-Jacques Trijol who oversees each step of production with his team, starting from picking the grapes to bottling the spirit.
The vineyard of the Trijol family is situated in the areas of Grande and Petite Champagne. However, Trijol is also able to buy wine and eaux-de-vie from other topnotch distillers who have vineyards in the remaining four appellation areas of Cognac (Bons Bois, Fins Bois, Borderies and Bois Ordinaires). After distillation, the cognac is left to mature in French oak barrels mainly from the Limousin and Tronçais forests. The extracts from the barrel wood bestow the cognac its characteristic warm hue and aroma, whereas the wood’s porosity allows it to develop its roundness and mellowness. Lastly, the final product is tasted and bottled in Trijol’s own bottling line.
Maxime Trijol offers a wide range of standard, premium and superior blends of cognac and the traditional French blend of slightly fermented grape must and Cognac eau-de-vie called Pineau des Charentes.
